Privacy Eraser, from PrivacyEraser Computing, is a very good product. Privacy Eraser is almost identical in design and functionality as Windows Internet Cleaner Pro, perhaps even an OEM version. The differences between the two products include a different color scheme and Privacy Eraser doesn't have the large number of plugins (only 10), the scheduling capabilities, nor the file/directory deletion capabilities. As with Windows Internet Cleaner Pro, attempts to reach support at the company went unanswered.
The ease of use for privacy eraser is excellent.
Privacy Eraser is very easy to setup, one of the best compared to the competitors. It is also one of the fastest products to quickly browse and configure the application.
Privacy Eraser didn't protect your privacy as well as the others did. If you are looking for a product that performs better in this area then take a look at Evidence Eliminator.
Even though Privacy Eraser does an excellent job of implementing the plugins, there are only 10 plugins available. A plugin is a small piece of interface software that allows your computer to erase information like the history of the last used files within desktop applications like browsers, email, instant messaging, chat, P2P, image viewers, graphical editors, etc.
The help is also excellent once you can get to it. The downside on the help is that it is only accessible from the main screen, not from any of the other screens where you actually need it.
Overall, Privacy Eraser is a very good product. It has a good balance of functionality for the extremely technical user and a novice user, which is hard to accomplish in a software product. It didn't have as many options as some of the other products, but it did cover most of the major issues related to privacy protection.
