There are two functions in Window Washer that really stand out compared to the other products. First, it was extremely easy to use and easy to install and configure. Second, the design of the user interface was very pleasant to use and made it easy to understand the functionality of the options and the specific terminology associated with each option. We originally reviewed Window Washer version 4.8 and thought the user interface was superb, but we liked the new look even better in version 6.0.
Window Washer was an easy application to install.
In Window Washer Version 4.8, there were a couple of weaknesses (auto-wash scheduling and extra plugin downloads) that have been resolved in version 6.0. The number of extra plugins dropped from 95 to 22, but many of these plugins are now standard within the product. A plugin is a small piece of interface software that allows your computer to erase information like the history of the last used files within desktop applications like browsers, email, instant messaging, chat, P2P, image viewers, graphical editors, etc.
Although Window Washer doesn't have as many options as Evidence Eliminator, it still has all the major features that are required to effectively protect your computer.
Windows Washer had great help and great documentation. It explained the settings and concepts very thoroughly in terms that any non-techie could understand. Window Washer also has excellent support options. You have the choice of using an instant live-chat session with technical support personnel, email support, and fill-in-the question form support.
Overall, Window Washer is an excellent choice. It didn't have as many options as Evidence Eliminator, but it did cover all of the major issues related to privacy protection. With Window Washer's selling price point of $29.95 taken into consideration, this could easily be the best overall product in the marketplace.
